Another miserable day, hot, humid with no wind, I knew it was going to be a short one. Today then was just about getting the rest of the skins clecoed in place ready to rivet next time. First I placed the plastic tip over the top rib and positioned it so I could see the line though the pre-drilled holes in the skin, and then taped it in place.
Next was to cleo the leading edge skin on to the spar and ribs. First side was straightforward but the flip side needed some cajoling to get the skin to bend over the plastic tip and the nose rib but once a couple of clecos were in it came together nicely.
Next I clecoed one side of the fairing to the spar and before turning the whole thing over I drilled the holes into the plastic tip and clecoed that to the rib.
Then I flipped the whole thing over and clecoed the other sides of the plastic tip and fairing to the structure.
Now with everything attached to the skeleton it was time to rivet but I was strongly fading in the heat so I only got as far as placing the rivets in the holes ready for next time.
Rudder should be done tomorrow.
